Beautiful aquatint etching from the British printmaker, Valerie Thornton (1931-1991).  Thornton's work is held at the Tate Gallery, British Museum, MoMa, and other institutions.  She was known for her architectural studies, of which this print is an example, depicting a stone carving of the biblical scene found in a church in Spoleto, Italy.
